The FBCx in Calorease is suggested to bind with dietary fat and can reduce the amount of fat absorbed from food. A pre-clinical study conducted by professors at the University of Minnesota suggests that Calorease may preferentially bind with saturated fat.5 Another pre-clinical study conducted by scientists at the National Institute of Health (NIH) showed Calorease resulted in lower levels of saturated fats and fatty acids in the blood.4
It is recommended to take two tablets of Calorease with a fat-containing meal three times a day. This is a total of six tablets each day.
FBCx is a soluble fibre derived from corn. Each Nuvexa tablet contains 1 gram of the alpha-cyclodextrin (alfadex) fibre which has been patented as FBCx in Nuvexa.
